| THE HOLLYWOOD SCHOOLHOUSE BANQUET AND RECEPTION FACILITY Woodinville, Washington The Hollywood Schoolhouse has been a landmark in the Sammamish Valley since its construction in 1912. It replaced a previous one-room wooden frame building built in 1890. The renovation consisted of removal of an unsympathetic 1950’s addition of approximately 7,000 SF. The new addition, approximately 6,762 SF, was more consistent with the architectural style of the original structure simple, utilitarian, and straightforward in nature. Life safety upgrades were also necessary to bring the structure up to present standards. The original wood wainscoting and sash windows were utilized along with the original hardwood floors and existing shaker roofing. The projects expands on the public assembly areas, maintains original architectural integrity with a non-distracting, complimentary new design. The schoolhouse contains a Grand Ballroom, Atrium and Museum that is used for a variety of special events including weddings and receptions, corporate meetings and retreats, holiday bazaars and craft shows, auctions, and other special events. Seating capacity is 300 for a reception and 250 for theater-style seating. Other features include a full-service kitchen, private restaurant, and historic museum. The schoolhouse has been declared a State Historical Monument that is located on a designated environmentally sensitive site. |
