U.S. Coast Guard Port Angeles Hangar Renovation Port Angeles, WA This $3,600,000 rehabilitation program to the historically registered Port Angeles Hangar involved the development of a 35% Design and corresponding PPRA documentation to obtain funding. Through the Design Workshop process AKS employs, a modified concept was proposed to retrofit the structure seismically while maintaining the required historic context. During the planning phase, AKS identified an option that demolished the addition, replacing it with new and expanded facility containing exercise room, locker rooms, avionics storage and shop and equipment areas. This proposal was funded by HQ, with Final Design documents drafted by the AKS team.
