TOP GUN APPLIED INSTRUCTION BUILDING Fallon, Nevada This facility co-locates two special units of the Navy - Top Gun fighter pilots and their radar support squadron. The building’s spaces integrate their classroom training requirements. The 47,000 SF facility includes administrative and office spaces, classrooms with auditoriums, projection rooms, instructor spaces, secure communication exercise rooms and related locker rooms and other support facilities. This project received four separate NAVFAC Design Awards for excellence in design and planning. This 47,000 square foot, $6.8 million building is outfitted with state-of-the-art audiovisual capabilities in both the classrooms and auditorium. AKS received a Design Excellence Award from the client for our design services on this project. The interior services included programming, space planning, specification of new furnishings and workstations, and coordination of the reuse of existing furnishings to be relocated.
